Each time I check my Instagram or my Facebook, I always feel like I’m judging a competition – who has the best selfie today? I don’t take it against those who have developed a habit of posting selfies in their social media accounts, but we must admit that there are better things to share than selfies. But who are we to stop people from doing what makes them happy. The best way to tolerate this ‘craze’ is to learn a thing or two about it. What should be kept in mind when posting selfies?

EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL

Each one of us is different from the other. We have different looks and appeal. I therefore conclude that there is no such thing as a ‘perfect selfie’. Whether it’s a “just woke up” selfie or a “no makeup” selfie”,  hit that like button and let that person know that you like his or her photo. In short - appreciate. Period.

BFF (Best Face Forward)

You must know that before you posted that selfie, your social media friends will judge you and say things about you. So unless you are Julia Barretto or Enrique Gil, exert some effort and put your BFF (best face forward).

EASY WITH THE FILTERS

DO NOT OVERUSE CAMERA FILTERS. One is enough, two is too much.

SELFIE WITH A REASON

I’m quite sure that your followers will very much appreciate if you post a selfie with a reason behind it - like you just came from a wedding, or a class reunion, or you’re attending the hottest concert in town. Don’t post selfies just because you’re bored. That’s not an excuse, you call that vanity. Peace out.

A SELFIE A DAY TAKES YOUR FOLLOWERS AWAY

There’s always a perfect time to post a selfie. I don’t think posting one every day is okay. You can show your love to yourself in some other ways. People in the social media wants to know what’s happening in your life, not just in your face. Post something interesting if you want to keep your followers.

Remember; this is a free country. Do what you want. Just be careful and post at your own risk.
